X-MAS 2009

Okay so it was the holidays again...

I spent a good week or two shopping for gifts and I eventually got some special people stuff for the holidays =)

Although I didn't expect anyone to get me anything, I did receive some nice stuff this year ^_^v

I'm going to post up pictures later

myself = assassins creed 2 / modern warfare 2 / tekken 6 / smashing pumpkins greatest hits cd / terminator salvation blu ray

mom = $$$

angie = taylor swift cd + the fray cd

stephen/michelle = volkswagen 'fast' figurine + keychain

michelle = custom 2ne1 t-shirt

fagel = inglourious basterds blu ray

ellen = h&m scarf (from white elephant)

Snowboarding Trip

So I finally went snowboarding again for the second time (the first time was in Hokkaido, Japan couple years ago)

After my finals...all I did was Christmas shopping and preparing for the trip.
I went on December 18-21...

Friday = got there around 430pm...settled down in our cabin...waited for the Fullerton group to come...but as it got darker, we became inpatient and wanted to go boarding so we went and did the 7-9m night boarding for $18...overall I had fun but I sucked at the bunny slopes and I ate it multiple times in the other beginner run (it wasn't intermediate) ...but yeah it was cold as fuck and my face was freezing...came back in the cabin with bruises everywhere, more like battle scars ;)

Saturday = woke up, watched some tv, went boarding around 4pm this time and yeah...had a productive night...overall I felt like most of us got better and we ate it less and less...unfortunately, my phone broke and I added some more battle scars =)

when we got back to the cabin, we ate, and did White Elephant gift exchanges with everyone...I got Ellen's H&M scarf which looks and feels really awesome...thanks :]

Sunday = relaxing day...didn't do anything besides eat and watch tv...although I wanted to relax, I did feel that this day was kinda wasted =[

Monday = came back, rested...

Wednesday-Monday = Work -_-

Halloween Horror Nights

Sunday, October 18 2009

So after weeks and weeks of thinking of what to do for this year's Halloween, I finally got to do something fun and worthwhile, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood! ...I was really excited for many reasons...lets see:

1) I've never been to Knotts Scary Farm or Halloween Horror Nights before.
2) I've never really had fun these past years when Halloween rolled around due to work or wack plans.
3) This year's Horror Night's main host was Jigsaw/Billy from one of my favorite movies, SAW.
4) I paid the cheapest price possible due to it being a Sunday (saved $20)
5) I was going with people in whom I knew I can have fun with

Although we all know that Universal Studios doesn't have many rides, it
didn't matter because the mazes, scare zones, live shows, and the terror tram used up all our time perfectly :)

Mazes

Saw: This one was the best maze I've ever walked in to. The lighting to the acting to the detailed structure made the movie really come to life. The first thing I noticed were the black/white cameras which showed us walking through, as if we were playing the game ourself. The bathroom scene from SAW 1 was great...there was a guy trying to saw off his leg, a dead body, and they even detailed the stench of the place...I was about to yack. There was also the frozen girl from SAW 3, and as we walked passed her, the room got really really cold...once again on point. Later was John Kramer being operated on with the nurse...very well done. Lastly, I wanted to point out Amanda digging through this guy's guts with her head trap on...it's like seeing the real Amanda from the movie right in front of you! ...I loved this maze.

Halloween: This was the first maze we went to...the rooms were once again very detailed and Michael Myers came out at the best times trying to scare us. One part I remember was when we walked through body bags in which we had to push out of our way...pretty creepy and realistic.

My Bloody Valentine: This maze was pretty cool, we walked through the mine where the killings happened...and although I've never walked through a real mine before, this place really had the feel of one along with a smell. Harry popped out swinging his axe at random places throughout the maze...it was pretty fun.

Chucky: This maze was pretty well structured, but the thing is it was pretty dark and not much of scare zones...it was more about random people in masks scaring us than Chucky himself...but overall it was okay, my last favorite maze.

Terror Tram
The Terror Tram featuring Billy the Puppet from SAW was awesome...as we got in the tram, the video screen interrupted our host as he was talking and challenged us to play his game to survive. Billy talked about how we love scary movies and how we think watching them makes us feel like an escape from reality...so he challenged the people by dropping us off at a random place and forced us to walk amongst the dirt as we faced through countless monsters...we went to the setting of My Bloody Valentine to Halloween to The Strangers to this crashed airplane scene with zombies everywhere...it was fun walking through the sets because once again, it made us feel like we were in the movies.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Although I've never seen this classical movie before, I knew about it from my childhood...the whole performance was great from the singing to acting...I enjoyed it a lot even though there were cross-dressing men dancing with hot girls.

Rides

Jurassic Park
...I got pretty wet compared to everyone else -_-

The Mummy ...When it was getting good, it stopped and it was all over...

The Simpsons ...it was like Back to the Future but a bigger screen...

Overall I don't really like The Mummy or The Simpsonss ride that much but they were okay for the first time...

Conclusion
Overall, I had a lot of fun with every aspect of Horror Nights...the only thing I found funny was how I got wet EVERYWHERE I went...SERIOUSLY, from the scare zones to the rides itself to the mazes to the show! ...I can't believe I got wet from watching a show in an auditorium! haha...I look forward in going next year...thanks Christine :)

Zombieland

So tonight I watched the midnight showing of Zombieland

Honestly I found this movie a lot better than expected even though the trailer already caught my interest 100% from the beginning...

The story was pretty simple, characters were fairly developed, and the actors were really well-suited together :) mmm Emma Stone was pretty hawt in this movie compared to her other ones...but yeah I'd say definitely watch it! ...really worth your money! (even though I didn't pay for my ticket)

Rating: 9.0/10

Paramore Concert Canceled

So today I was suppose to go see Paramore live at the Hollywood Palladium but unfortunately my friend, Fern texted me in the morning and told me the show was canceled due to Hayley Williams blowing out her voice...

The show is postponed...at first I was kinda okay about it but later on the day I started to feel a ltitle down because I know I've been wanting to see them live for quite some time now...it's okay, this gives me more time to listen and to learn their songs better ;)

Feel better Hayley, see you soon :)
